Pay Rate: Compensation: The starting annual base salary range for this position is $68,900 - $87,000.

Position Summary and Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Services and Central Heating, the Supervisor- HVAC supervises the heating, ventilating and air conditioning shop as well as the campus Troubleshooters.
Responsibilities - Oversee the day to day operations of the shop; plan and assign work to employees, review and approve time reports, order materials and prepare estimates.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to College Standards. Ensure work is performed in a safe manner, including required training.
- Maintain working relationships with customers.
- Inspect facilities and identify needed work, submit service requests as appropriate. Monitor work requests and PMs on TMA CMMS system.
- Prepare annual project list and capital prioritization to assist in pursuing funding.
- Monitor overall HVAC system performance and operation through centralized control network.
- Manage department spending to adhere to operational budget over the fiscal year.
- Prepare and contract for work beyond the scope of the shop. Assess contractor work for quality and adherence to design and specs.
- Seek out opportunities to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Solicit proposals and evaluate costs from outside vendors.
Qualifications Required - Ten years of general knowledge of all phases of hydronic heating, air handlers, heat pumps and air conditioning, including compressors, pumps, controls (pneumatic and DDC), refrigerants, etc. Education and training sufficient to perform the duties described will be considered.
- Ability to work with and lead a team of skilled technicians.
- Knowledge of commercial scale chilled water systems and mechanical cooling towers.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Experience with various types of automated controls and PLCs
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable using technology to support operations.
- Must possess a valid NYS Driver's license.
- Must be available for overtime and emergency response when required.
Preferred - Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment
- Refrigeration license.
