Position: Purchaser - Japanese Bilingual

Location: West Sacramento, CA (on-site)

Working hour: 8:00 AM-5:00PM

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchaser for an Asian Food Distributor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing high-quality Asian food products from both domestic and international suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Responsibilities:

• Procurement:
  • Source and purchase a variety of Asian food products from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer demand.
• Inventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Conduct biannual inventory counts with the entire company, inputting data into a managed inventory system.
  • Utilize Excel to input and manage imported food product information.
• Market Analysis:
  • Conduct regular market research to identify new products, trends, and supplier opportunities.
  • Visit local retail stores near the office on a weekly basis to engage with customers and research product trends.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to forecast demand and adjust purchasing strategies.

Approximately the first 3 months of employment will consist of warehouse training.

Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• Fluency in both Japanese and English is required.
• Basic general Microsoft skills are required
• No prior purchasing experience is necessary.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary: $40,000 - $45,000 per year.
• 401k, Dental Health, Bonus
