Job Description

Anchorage Cooperative Preschool is a play-based preschool program with a 50-year history of supporting students and families in Anchorage. We are seeking a creative, patient, and caring individual to join our team as a paraprofessional.

Preference given to candidates who have:

• CDA or Early Childhood Education courses.
• 2 years of childcare experience (formal or informal).
• A creative and collaborative spirit.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with adults and children.
• Familiarity and openness to play-based teaching styles.
• Clear background check and 3 references.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with teachers and other paraprofessionals to support preschool children in social-emotional learning.
• Use positive discipline techniques and model kindness and empathy in an inclusive classroom environment.
• Play and explore outdoors with children on our beautiful playground year-round.
• Support children's learning and development through connection and caring.

We believe in respect, building social-emotional skills, and fostering a love of learning through play. We have a beautiful outdoor and indoor classroom and supportive staff. We also offer continuing education reimbursement and paid time off. Class hours are 8:30 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Thursday, and 9 AM - 2 PM on Fridays. We offer spring, summer, and fall programs and thus are in school year-round.

Job Type: Full-time 32 – 40 per week

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
