Salary: 55,250 - 99,875 USD per year Requirements:

• I require a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD interim clearance prior to starting.
• I expect successful candidates to demonstrate a proven ability to identify, quantify, and solve complex technical problems.
• You must possess demonstrable expertise in the Linux operating system, particularly with Enterprise Linux (RHEL or CentOS), or have experience in network engineering focused on Cisco products.

Responsibilities:

• In this entry-level Systems Engineer position, you will work on various aspects of the training systems we design, develop, integrate, and install at Naval sites across the nation. You will be responsible for designing and developing computer-based training systems running on Linux, including the creation of Linux system images. Your role will involve integration and system testing of these training systems. Specifically, you will engage in the full DevSecOps lifecycle, from designing and specifying unit tests to overall system integration testing and validating trainer functionality before turnover to the Navy.

I lead the High Fidelity Simulation Business Area at Leidos, which is dedicated to architecting and implementing large-scale System of Systems solutions supporting world-class simulation and training products for the U.S. Navy. The desired skills for this position include experience in COTS hardware design and build, knowledge of the latest CPU, memory, and video trends and products, and familiarity with Cisco network design, configuration, and troubleshooting. Candidates with a detailed understanding of BIOS and UEFI, reverse engineering skills on Linux systems, and experience with server provisioning and virtualization technologies will be highly valued. Additionally, skills in Linux scripting (BASH and Python), cluster system design, and knowledge of SONAR systems or Navy experience will be beneficial.

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $55,250 to $99,875. Please note that this range is a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market data.
