Commercial Litigation Attorney - Counsel (Science Background Required)
Direct Counsel is seeking a Commercial Litigation Counsel to join a prestigious Am Law 100 firm’s Litigation group. Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school
An additional degree in MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology is required
Bar Admission:
Must be admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying
Candidates licensed to practice law in New York are encouraged to apply
Communicating with clients and providing strategic legal counsel
Supervising junior associates and coordinating case teams
Working closely with expert witnesses and consultants
Assisting in fact development, discovery, and depositions
Drafting and reviewing discovery responses, legal briefs, motions, and memoranda
Contributing to case strategy and trial preparation
8+ years of litigation experience, preferably at an Am Law 100 firm
Strong science background required
Experience in products liability and/or complex commercial litigation preferred
Familiarity with pharmaceutical and medical device industries is a plus
Strong analytical and legal writing skills
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong research and problem-solving abilities
Ability to influence and persuade others effectively
Strong project management and multitasking capabilities
Work Environment: Hybrid work model with regular in-office presence and some flexibility for remote work
Compensation: $400,000 - $500,000 per year, depending on geographic location and experience level
