CAD Designer (Mechanical Building Systems)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer with 5+ years of experience in designing HVAC , Refrigeration , Plumbing , or Process Piping systems for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Revit and possess strong knowledge of BIM processes and workflows . This role involves creating and managing detailed 3D Revit models, ensuring coordination across disciplines, and supporting project teams with technical drawings and documentation.

This position is based on-site in Devens, MA , and focuses on local talent with stable work histories.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Drafting:
   • Develop detailed 3D Revit models and technical drawings for HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, and Process Piping systems.
   • Revise designs based on client feedback, design changes, and field conditions.
2. BIM Coordination:
   • Create, update, and manage BIM models to ensure coordination across mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
   • Perform clash detection using Revit and resolve design conflicts collaboratively.
3. Compliance and Standards:
   • Ensure all designs meet applicable building codes , industry standards , and company best practices.
   • Maintain drawing files, BIM models, and documentation in compliance with project requirements.
4. Field Collaboration:
   • Conduct field visits to gather measurements and verify existing conditions.
   • Work with suppliers and vendors to incorporate equipment specifications into designs.
5. Support Project Teams:
   • Provide clear and precise drawings to support fabrication and installation teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience designing HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, or Process Piping systems for commercial projects.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and related CAD software.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM processes and workflows.
• Industry Knowledge:
  • Understanding of mechanical systems , building codes , and construction practices .
• Additional Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering sketches, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with clash detection tools and methodologies.
• Experience supporting fabrication and installation teams.
• Knowledge of advanced Revit features and integrations.

• Work Environment: This position is fully on-site in Devens, MA. Candidates should be local or willing to commute daily.
