Job Description

Position Overview:

The Beacon Analyst is responsible for the implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic Beacon Oncology module within a healthcare organization. This role involves analyzing workflows, configuring system functionality, troubleshooting issues, and providing end-user training to ensure seamless integration of Epic Beacon with clinical and operational processes.

  • Travel: 25% onsite (1 week each month)

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Configuration & Maintenance:

    • Configure and maintain the Epic Beacon module to align with clinical oncology workflows.

    • Develop, test, and implement protocols, orders, and treatment plans within Beacon.

    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including NCCN guidelines, chemotherapy regimens, and dosing calculations .

  • Workflow Optimization & Analysis:

    • Assess and optimize oncology treatment workflows to enhance efficiency and patient safety.

    • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, and IT teams to align system functionality with clinical needs.

    • Conduct gap analyses and recommend process improvements for better system utilization.

  • Troubleshooting & System Upgrades:

    • Investigate system issues, data discrepancies, and user-reported problems , implementing timely resolutions.

    • Support Epic system upgrades, patches, and new releases , ensuring continued system functionality.

    • Perform testing and validation of new features before deployment.

Qualifications & Skills:
Experience working in oncology, pharmacy, or healthcare IT environments is preferred.

  • Technical & Analytical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of Epic Beacon module, oncology workflows, and clinical protocols .

    • Experience with data analysis, report building, and system troubleshooting .

    • Familiarity with Epic Reporting Workbench, Clarity, and other Epic reporting tools is a plus.

Certifications:

  • Epic Beacon Certification required

  • Epic Clarity Reporting (a plus)

  • Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification (a plus)
